THE LODGE
Blachford began as a single cabin over twenty years ago. That cabin is now called "Trappers' Cabin" for trappers Henry Cadeaux and his wife whose families worked the land here for generations. The cabin still remains and is a piece of 'living history' at Blachford. We keep the cabin in good shape, and you can still stay there during any season.
Many cabins have been built since that first cabin Henry and Mrs. Cadeaux lived in, and of course Blachford has a spacious new, environmentally friendly, post-and-beam log main lodge. Blachford brings you back to a simpler time, and our gourmet cooked meals boast a northern flavour with enough 'familiar menu' to always make you feel at home. You'll find our welcome is as big as the land itself.
The lodge sits at the west end of remote 17 kilometre long Blachford Lake, just north of the east arm of Great Slave Lake. Accommodations for 35 include 5 rustic but comfortable log cabins and a main lodge with full bathroom facilities. A traditional 18' tipi, BBQ, picnic area, and open decks are available for various activities. Guests can enjoy the sauna and outdoor hot tub at any time of the year.
