EQUIPMENT
Skis and poles are provided for
each skier's use at no charge. There is no need
to bring your skis from home. The
retail store provides state of the art
quality products and services. The Völkl Explosive continues to be the
ski of choice for experienced Heli- Skiers. It offers approximately 40 percent more flotation than
a conventional ski while maintaining a
similar "feel". |
| |
 |
This is the ski recommended for
accomplished skiers. The Explosive comes in 165
cm, 173 cm, 180 cm, and 190 cm lengths. Also
available in limited quantities, the Launcher is
designed for high performance powder skiers
looking for more carving power and performance
than a conventional wide ski. It is available in
165 cm, 180 cm, 190 cm and 195
cm. |

Atomic
Heli-Star
Atomic, the creator of the original
"Fat Boy" Heli-Ski, has a new, improved version, the
Heli-Star. This is a wide ski, and provides maximum flotation
and is the easiest to turn. Lengths are 170 cm and 180 cm. The
Atomic Powder Plus version is available in 150 cm and 165 cm
lengths.

POLES
Goode Technology carbon fiber poles
that offer lightness and durability.
|
BINDINGS
Salomon bindings are used exclusively
as they are one of the most proven and durable bindings
available.

BOOTS
If you have a good
pair of boots, you do not need any advice. However, one
should avoid pressure points on the toes, ankles and
lower part of the shins. You want enough hinging action
so you can push your knees forward easily without having
to release your top buckle. We do not supply boots. To
ensure that your boots arrive with you, it is
recommended that you carry your boots as hand luggage
when travelling. It is strongly recommend that you do
not bring new ski boots that you have not previously
skied in. |
OUTERWEAR
Marmot Mountain Wear
continues to make a good outerwear system. This
suit is the ultimate in function and comfort and is
versatile enough to wear in all conditions. Also incorporated
is Schoeller's waterproof/breathable stretch
fabric in the critical areas: elbows, lower back, thighs
and knees, and Marmots Junction N300, nylon laminated
with Gore-Tex, a durable, waterproof/breathable fabric.
Design features include pitzips, removable hood, lots of
pockets for carrying those essential items and a radio
pocket, internal suspender system and closures that
really keep snow and wind out. Two-piece alternatives by Marmot are also
available which are excellent choices for the serious,
all-weather skier who demands complete protection from the
elements with versatility.

Monashee and Turbo goggles from
Smith. These are the best goggles for the alpine
environment. Featuring an impact resistant, thermal double
lens with UVR protection, they have superior optical clarity,
with an exclusive anti-fog coating. The Turbo model has a
silent battery power fan to eliminate mist and
fog.

Powder Glove
by Gordini
The gauntlet glove keeps snow out and
the removable liner enables the gloves to be used in all
temperatures. Clarino is used for the outer shell, a much more
durable and warmer option to leather. This is the first choice
of guides and Heli-Ski veterans due to the function,
durability and value. A mitt version with the same
incomparable value and function is also
available.

Power Dry and Power Stretch
Clothing
A program is used consisting
of first and second layer items to keep you
dry and comfortable, using Malden's Polartec Power Dry and
Power Stretch fabrics. These fabrics are ideal for
sports that create body moisture due to aerobic
activity. They keep you dry, and offer
excellent thermal characteristics to help maintain an even body temperature
when the temperature varies.
