OVERVIEW GUIDE TRAINING

Advanced Wilderness Guide Training
 The Advanced wilderness guide training program is intended for those who need to attain the skills and knowledge required of a guide during high caliber horseback adventures such as Big Game Viewing. There is strong emphasis on wildlife identification, habits and seasonal patterns, staff and trip management, regulations and firearms safety. It is designed for those seriously interested in a career within guiding, and is applicable for individuals with specific goals (i.e. lead adventure tourism guide, managing or owning your own adventure tourism business).

 June 22, 2008 to June 28, 2008
Difficulty: Intermediate
Restrictions: Prerequisites: 1 or 2 week Wilderness Guide Training or the equivalent in both horse and wilderness experience. Wilderness First-Aid, firearm Possession and Acquisition License.
Equipment Provided: All-inclusive programs include meals, accommodation, horses, instructors and equipment (everything from saddles, to packing and shoeing equipment).
Transportation: Trips originate and end at the ranch, near Gold Bridge, BC. During the summer season take highway 99 from Vancouver to Whistler and then Pemberton. Take the Hurley Pass Forestry Road to the ranch. Van transfer from Vancouver to the ranch are included. The van accommodates up to 11 passengers and luggage. Departure is from the Sheraton Guildford in Surrey at 7 am.
Accommodations: Accommodation is a combination of Ranch tent cabins and alpine camp(s).
Meal Information: All meals are included.
