TRIP DETAILS

Trip Highlights
Day 1:
Meet your guides at Finch Subway at 8:30 am. A seven hour drive through the heart of cottage country will take you to your first camp at Achray Station, an old stop for trains. The campground is on the shores of Grand Lake.
Day 2:
This is the first real day of camping. You will pack the canoes and after some instruction you will start the trip across two lakes and two portages to your next campsite. After setting up camp there will be time for exploration and a trip to High Falls.
Day 3:
This day is a short paddle and the beginning of a hike along the Johnston Lake and High Falls Trails. You will stop at several lakes along the way for lunch and a quick swim. The hike is about 15 km and 5-6 hours. Return to the camp.
Day 4:
Break camp and head towards Barron Canyon. After several small lakes and a series of short portages you will find yourself at placid waters, with sheer rock stretching up on either side.
Day 5:
A lazy paddle down the river to the pick up point. On the way back to Toronto you will stop at Bonnechere Caves for a one hour tour. Return to Toronto in late evening.
