Fly In Fishing Lodges - Lakes
Canada's fly-in lake fishing lodges offer the world's best fishing opportunities with all the comforts of home. Floatplanes or helicopters are used to access these remote Canadian wilderness lakes. Some lodges even have their own airstrips. Canada is well known for fly-in lake fishing for species including lake trout, northern pike, walleye, rainbow and brook trout. Trophy fish are regularly caught in Canada's remote fly-in lakes. Catch and release policies on many lakes insure the fishing remains great and the larger fish are allowed to reach trophy size. Smaller fish may be kept on many lakes so visitors can enjoy a shore lunch, which is a Canadian tradition. Lake trout exceeding 40 pounds and northern pike in the 30 pound range are caught often throughout northern Canada. Fishing techniques vary, but trolling, casting or vertical jigging are all effective methods. The fly fisherman can also do very well with either sinking or surface presentations. Prime fishing season in Canada's northern lakes runs from ice-out (late May/June) through September. The longer days of summer means you can fish and fish - who wants to sleep when the fishing is this good?! Packages may be all inclusive with guides or you may prefer to have some time on your own to explore without a guide. See the trip details for further information and custom options. The lodges are modern and complete with comfortable first class accommodations, service and fantastic meals. Fly-outs are also available at some lakes into virtually untouched fisheries where you may be one of the privileged few to fish the lake that season. If you're not fishing all the time, there are other activities to enjoy such as hiking, photography, wildlife viewing or watching the amazing displays of the northern lights - aurora borealis. Fly-in fishing at Canada's wilderness lodges is a fishing adventure of a lifetime, and we know that you will want to return year after year. The trips listed above highlight the best fly-in lake fishing in Canada.
