Gold Rush Trail interpretive history tour

Travel back in time on this historical gold rush tour. This is an authentic and unique gold rush interpretive tour including history, nature study, wildlife, and wilderness mountain beauty laced with local charm. Travel the Gold Rush Trail, step back into history and visit the sites of the 1860's gold rush which brought miners from around the world to seek their fortunes. Your gold rush adventure begins as you enter Likely, a small and unique community at the foot of Cariboo Mountains where gold prospecting continues in the tradition of the 1860's prospectors. The Cariboo gold rush of the 1860's was the primary force that opened up the interior of British Columbia. Explore the ghost town of Quesnel Forks, the largest city north of San Francisco in the 1860's and the main supply center for the gold fields. Visit the Bullion pit, still the largest hydraulic mine site in the world, and the site of Bullion City and Cedar City - Barney Boe's famous placer claim.

Gold Rush Trail interpretive history tour

Explore Likely on the shores of Quesnel Lake, the deepest fjord lake in the world. Meet an eclectic group of friendly old time prospector's and miners who have made the search for gold their 'chase of fame". And don't miss visiting the world famous "Likely Hilton" , the pub, known far and wide for its local character, color, charm and humour, with a history dating back to the gold rush days and a unique collection of local historical memorabilia and trivia. This area is rich in history as well as natural mountain beauty, wildlife and bird life.
