ABOUT THIS REGION  FLY IN FISHING LODGES - LAKES

Lake fishing adventure on Makokibatan Lake

This lake fishing trip on Makokibatan Lake offers adventure with all of the comforts of a first class wilderness retreat. You will see more fish than people on this lake fishing trip and the lodge is situated on Makokibatan Lake with access to miles of waterways and nearby small lakes. Fish the wild rapids, quiet back bays, or fast flowing river for trophy walleye, pike and speckled trout. The legendary Albany River, once one of the main water highways of the fur trade to Hudson Bay, is better known today as the home to huge fish. The fish thrive in the clear, cold waters of Albany-fed Makokibatan Lake and the short season between spring thaw and fall freeze-up means the fish are always ready to hit a fly, lure or natural bait.

Lake fishing adventure on Makokibatan Lake

Makokibatan Lake is over 18 miles long, and famous for its large and plentiful walleye. The cold water and steady currents of the mighty Albany River also make for some monster Northern Pike. If you are in search of some extra adventure, let one of your guides take you downstream in search of the legendary Albany River brook trout.
