ABOUT THIS REGION  CANOEING - RIVER TRIPS

Canoeing on Temagami Lakes

The magnificent Obabika and Wakimika forests of Temagami Lakes are among the few remaining stands of old growth pine in Ontario. A standard on our schedule your guides have been making trips to this famous Old Growth forest for years. Long before they became well known to environmental groups our paddlers were enjoying this great forest and the wonderful lakes, creeks and rivers along the way. You'll have time to hike, swim, paint or take pictures on this 6 day trip. A full day will be spent at the Old Growth, which is Skill Level 1. This route is ideal for the novice paddler, as well as for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of the Temagami forests. The trip passes through some of the most scenic spots in the area, accessible only by canoe.

Canoeing on Temagami Lakes

Lake Temagami, the 'lake of deep waters', is unmatched by any canoeing areas in eastern Canada. Its thousands of miles of lakes and streams offers an almost endless web of routes for novice and seasoned paddlers. From the base lodge on the lake, your guides will take you out on overnight trips along the lake, allowing you to camp under the stars, paddle the crystal clear waters and explore the area.
