Llama pack trips in BC's Mountains

Journey into the wilderness high country on this animal-assisted llama pack trip. You can enjoy trekking through the mountain meadows and alpine ridges without a heavy backpack. Your experienced llama will pack all of the camping gear and food. These sure-footed companions ensure you hike in comfort. Evening campsites will be close to mountain streams or lakes. Your experienced guides will prepare terrific meals while you explore the trails or fish. Excellent wildlife viewing opportunities along the way.

Llamas are co-operative, experienced packers. Their calm and curious nature combined with gentle footsteps make their impact on nature minimal. You will hike with ease while they carry the bulk of your gear.

Season: July to September
Requirements: Sleeping bag.
Suggested Items: Daypack, camera, flashlight, water bottle, pocket knife, sunglasses, insect repellent, sunscreen, fishing gear and license.
Suggested Clothing: Hiking boots, rain gear, warm clothing, shorts, t-shirts, wool socks, hat and gloves.
Difficulty: Easy/Intermediate
Restrictions: Recommended minimum age 12 for trips longer than 3 days, over age 7 recommended for shorter trips. If you are in reasonable physical condition you will have no problem with the terrain you will be on.
Equipment Provided: Camping gear, tent, sleeping pad, binoculars, maps and field guides.
Transportation: Trips originate and end near Prince George, BC. Prince George can be reached by taking Highway 16, 375 km west of Jasper, Alberta or Highway 97 north of Kamloops for 525 km. Prince George also is seviced by bus and scheduled aircraft. Pick up from the airport and transfer to the trailhead or local hotel included. Transportation arrangements available.
Accommodations: Accommodation in tent campsites.

Meal Information: Prepared by your guides.
Guide Information: Licensed and qualified.
Weather Information: Summer temperatures range from 15-25 degrees Celsius during the day to 5-10 degrees Celsius at night.
