ABOUT THIS REGION  CANOEING - RIVER TRIPS

Evening voyageur canoe trip on the Columbia River

Paddle to the past in a traditional voyageur canoe on the beautiful Columbia River. Our modern voyageur guides will take you back to the time of the fur traders and birchbark canoes. Enjoy the stories of this fascinating time in Canada’s history, and be in "the right place at the right time" for viewing the abundant wildlife of the Columbia River Wetlands. The stability of our 34 ft Voyageur Canoes make this trip perfect for guests of all ages and abilities. Made for travel in lakes and calmer rivers, you will enjoy the comfort of this boat and the way it moves silently with the river, leaving no trace of its passage.

Evening voyageur canoe trip on the Columbia River

Float the Upper Columbia River as it flows through the longest continuous wetlands in North America. This wondrous land, flanked by grasslands, forest and alpine tundra, is habitat for over 250 species of birds and an abundance of other wildlife. Tours depart Radium Hotsprings in the early evening. This is the time of day when the beaver are working on the river, the birds of prey are hunting before dark, and the other animials of the wetlands are seeking the cool of the evening.
