ABOUT THIS REGION  WHALE WATCHING

Magnificent seven marine mammal tour

The ultimate marine wildlife and whale watching tour is now being offered on northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Most famed are the Orca or Killer Whales, as this area is the most densely trafficked area of Killer Whales in the world. However, in October there are also hundreds of Pacific White-sided Dolphins, Dall's and Harbour Porpoise, Minke Whales, Steller Sea Lions and Harbour Seals. Humpback Whales are also found in increasing numbers in this area of the BC coast. The natural splendor of the Blackfish and Broughton Archipelagos is so great that you will have the opportunity to see 7 or 8 species of marine mammals.

Magnificent seven marine mammal tour

With 5 full days of marine wildlife viewing, it is possible to gain true insight into the total marine ecosystem and to view the characteristics and behaviors of these wondrous marine mammals. This is an ideal trip for anyone with a true love and respect for the ocean and its inhabitants. Here you will find awe-inspiring biodiversity as the myriad of islands is home to black bear, northern river otter, gray wolf, mink, raccoon, and black-tailed deer. In the skies migrating and resident birds such as bald eagles are also a source of wonder. Below the surface of the water, the richness of the marine ecosystem is obvious in the diversity of the invertebrate life. The tour is perfect for those wanting a complete vacation with a focus on experiential learning.
