Wilderness hike guide training program

Learn the skills to become a professional hiking guide on this educational guide training program in the Chilcotin Mountains of British Columbia. The Hike guide training program is intended to teach a person how to guide hikers on "horse supported" adventures where gear is transported by pack horse. The course content includes terrain variations, flora and fauna education, camp preparation, packing a horse, shoeing a horse, hobbling, staking, guest abilities and limitations and operational procedures. The program prepares participants for entry level positions within the guide outfitting industry, adventure tourism, guest ranches, or fishing lodges.

| Equipment Provided: All-inclusive programs include meals, accommodation, horses, instructors and equipment (everything from saddles, to packing and shoeing equipment). |
| Transportation: Trips originate and end at the ranch, near Gold Bridge, BC. During the summer season take Highway 99 from Vancouver to Whistler and then Pemberton. Take the Hurley Pass Forestry Road to the ranch. Van transfer from Vancouver to the ranch are included. The van accommodates up to 8 passengers and luggage and departure is from the Sheraton Guildford in Surrey at 7 am. |
