Snowmobiling in Wells Gray Park, BC

Nothing is quite like snowmobiling in the mountains. Incredible powder, exciting trails and winter mountain scenery in the background. You will be able to ascend the mountains with ease on your own snowmobile. Your experienced guide will take you into the fascinating alpine areas of Foghorn, Granit, Baldy, Raft, Grizzly Mountains, Shuswap Highlands and Cariboo Mountains. At the end of each day return to the comforts and hospitality at a local inn or hotel. If you have ever had the urge to conquer a mountain and look at the world from the top this trip is for you.

Snowmobiling in Wells Gray Park, BC

With heavy snowfalls usually arriving by the beginning of December, the Clearwater / Wells Gray Park area turns into a true winter wonderland! From a small, cozy country inn featuring beautifully decorated rooms with many amenities, serving hearty homemade meals and offering warm casual hospitality, guests experience three days of snowmobiling that let them escape into nature, far away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The winter in Wells Gray Park offers relaxation and peacefulness like no other season. Snow-mobiling is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It's fun and no previous experience is required. For non-riders, sharing a snowmobile is possible. The sauna or hot tub invite after a day spent outdoors in the brisk winter air. This program is also offered during the Christmas week, a very special time of the year up here, culminating in a relaxed New Year's Eve celebration. Flexible arrival dates allow this program to be combined with any airline schedules or other travel components!

Season: December 26, 2007 to March 29, 2008
Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunglasses, sunscreen.
Suggested Clothing: Warm underwear, three sets of socks, long underwear, warm pants, snow overpants, warm coat, windbreaker overcoat, two pairs of gloves, warm hat, scarf, waterproof winter boots.
Difficulty: Easy/Intermediate
Restrictions: Minimum group size of 2, maximum group size of 6. Minimum age to drive your own snowmobile is 16 years.
Equipment Provided: 500 cc skidoos, fuel, helmet.
Transportation: 5 day trips originate and end at Clearwater, BC. Clearwater can be reached via highway #5, about 130 km north of Kamloops or west of Jasper, Alberta on highway #16 then south on highway #5, about 320 km. The 9 day trips originate in Kamloops and end in Quesnel, BC. Airport transfers are included for the 9 day trips.
Accommodations: Accommodations in local inns and hotels in the Wells Gray and Bowron Lakes area.
Meal Information: All meals included starting with dinner on Day 1 and ending with breakfast on the last day.
Guide Information: Guide is included.
Weather Information: Winter temperatures may be as low as -30 degrees Celsius, but usually more moderate, in the 0 to -10 degree range.
Comments: No snowmobile riding experience is necessary. Each guest should be in good physical condition and willing to participate in a group.
