ABOUT THIS REGION  TELEMARK BACKCOUNTRY SKIING

Alpine ski touring in Wells Gray Park

Imagine staying at a alpine chalet at 7000', where just outside your door is a ton of powder snow and varied terrain for telemarking and ski touring. Some of the best snow in the world is found in this area. This alpine nordic ski traverse of the complete Trophy mountain, Valley of the Lakes, Table Mountain, Cariboo Meadows and Fight Meadows alpine plateau. If your idea of a perfect ski holiday is YoYo skiing - going up, then coming down - the tour that includes stays at two of the huts is for you. Expect spectacular runs, reliably covered in deep Cariboo Mountain Powder. The tour in which you visit three huts combines some challenging vertical runs with extensive touring and exploring. The terrain between the first two cabins, Trophy and Discovery, is largely steep and deep: on the fifth day you travel north into the Fight Meadow, home of the Mountain Caribou and some of the best ski-touring country in BC.
