ABOUT THIS REGION  WILDLIFE WATCHING

Spring wildlife watching in Newfoundland

Enjoy this wildlife watching holiday in Newfoundland where you choose the dates and leave the rest to your guides. May and early June are some of the best times of the year to view whales and wildlife along the east coast of Newfoundland. Begin with a boat tour featuring North America's largest puffin colony, and thousands of other seabirds. Often you will find dolphins, humpbacks, and the year's first fin whales. Travel to North America's most easterly point and briefly explore the oldest city before traveling to the first outpost of New France. Visit the Continent's third largest gannet colony. This site is also a breeding ground for thousands of other seabirds and they will all be waiting for your camera.

These are moving sightseeing tours that begin in St. John's, where you will participate in boat voyages featuring whale watching and a visit to North America's largest puffin colony, and thousands of other seabirds. Your next stop is the Avalon Wilderness area where you can view whales, a small puffin colony, a tern colony, seals and members of the world's most southerly caribou herd. Then travel to North America's most easterly point and briefly explore the oldest City before traveling to the first outpost of New France. Here you will visit the Continent's third largest gannet colony. This site is also a breeding ground for thousands of other seabirds. Another caribou herd, land-based whale watching, and moose are often part of the day's wonders. The trip ends back in St. John's with some free time to explore this capital city.
