Kayaking and hiking to view whales and icebergs

Kayak and hike the wild coast of Newfoundland and explore the famous Iceberg Alley of Trinity Bay and see the huge mammoths that sank the Titanic on these kayaking expeditions. This vacation offers a myriad of sightseeing opportunities; rugged sea coast, wilderness forests, iceberg, whale and seabird viewing. Scooping up “bergie-bits” (hand sized pieces of icebergs) used to chill our drinks is an once in a life activity. Hiking on the East Coast Trail offers a special glimpse into this province’s unique culture and heritage. Come and be captivated by the scenic beauty and maritime charm.

In this special part of the planet, Mother Nature offers guests a variety of incredible natural wonders to enjoy and entertain. The volume of icebergs, whales and seabirds sightings varies throughout the summer months. The best iceberg viewing tends to be in May & June, the majority of whales usually migrate close to shore during mid June to mid August, while the seabirds are pretty much all summer.

Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle.
Suggested Clothing: Clothing to suit a variety of summer weather conditions. Rain gear, waterproof coat, hat, fleece clothing, gloves. Clothing list provided on request.

Equipment Provided: Boats, kayaks and equipment, site passes.
Transportation: Trips originate and end in St. John's, Newfoundland. Transportation arrangements available.
Accommodations: Accommodations are in local hotels or country inns.
Meal Information: Alcoholic beverages not included.
Guide Information: Your guides are highly trained and are experienced in wilderness camping. Your guides will offer their knowledge on wilderness survival and explain the unique ecology of each area you visit.
Weather Information: Summer temperatures average between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
