Fly-in canoe and hiking trip down the Wind River

For a true northern canoeing experience come try this fantastic fly-in canoe expedition down the Wind River in the northern Yukon. This exciting canoeing adventure into untouched wilderness will meet all your adventure expectations. The entire Wind River has crystal clear water, Class 2 rapids and the river flows through some of the most incredible mountain scenery you will ever experience. Wildlife encounters along the rivers are frequent and may include moose, caribou, eagles, wolves and grizzly bears. Camps are set up along the shores of the river and meals are cooked over an open fire.

There are lots of opportunities for hiking, fishing and just exploring this vast wilderness. The remote setting and exciting water will thrill anyone with a sense of adventure.

Season: July to August
Requirements: Warm sleeping bag (rated up to -10 degrees Celsius), sleeping pad, waterproof duffel bag or backpack.
Suggested Items: Fishing gear, tackle and license, camera, binoculars, insect repellent, daypack, sunglasses, flashlight, pocket knife, compass.
Suggested Clothing: Warm jacket, rain gear, hiking boots, sneakers, gloves, bathing suit, towels and personal clothing suited to variable temperatures.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Restrictions: Minimum of four participants.
Maximum Number of People: 10
Equipment Provided: Canoe and camping equipment.
Transportation: Trips originate and end in Whitehorse, Yukon. Air transfers between Whitehorse and Mayo and float plane transfers are included. Arrangements to Whitehorse are available.
Accommodations: Two nights hotel accommodation in Whitehorse. Remaining nights are in tent campsites along the river.
Meal Information: All meals on the canoe portion of the trip are included in price. However, meals in hotels (2 nights) are not included.
Guide Information: Guide is included.
Weather Information: Summer temperatures average between 10-22 degrees Celsius.
Comments: Class 2 rapids.
