Winter months offer a different and exciting array of activities, such as cross country skiing on over 20 km of groomed trails, snowshoeing, ice fishing, snowmobiling and more. Learn winter survival skills by building a quinzee snow hut or try your hand at ice sculpting or dog mushing. The tipi is carpeted with spruce boughs and the center firepit provides the warmth and cozy atmosphere for our Dene Elders to share their legends and culture. The aurora borealis (northern lights) often dance across the sky in late August and March-April. They are one of God's greatest gifts to the north and they are perhaps the most spectacular natural phenomenon on earth.
