ABOUT THIS REGION  CANOEING - RIVER TRIPS

Canoeing expedition on the Stikine River

Travel through two countries and paddle through some amazing coastal scenery on this canoeing trip down the Stikine River. This 165 mile canoeing expedition begins near Dease Lake in British Columbia and winds its way to the coast, ending in Wrangell, Alaska. Along the way you will pass by vast glaciated mountains, icebergs, hot springs and native fishing camps. You will travel through the Coastal Western Hemlock and Mountain Hemlock biogeoclimatic zones. Even at this latitude there is a rich rain forest ecosystem here supporting eagles, bears, foxes, wolves, mountain goats and numerous other mammals.

Canoeing expedition on the Stikine River

John Muir travelling up the Stikine from its mouth in 1879, called the lower Stikine "a Yosemite 100 miles long". Others have called the Stikine the "gateway to the vast interior of northwest Canada". This company provides the best ratio of guide to guests in the north (the single most important factor influencing the quality of your trip) and sets the highest standards for guides knowledge and natural interpretation.
