Situated in the high alpine meadows of Banff National Park, this lodge is a remote back country experience with cabins, accessible only by hiking or cross-country skiing. Well established trails lead through the vast meadow land to the mountain passes and down to adjoining valleys. In summer, the mountains are filled with wild flowers. Fall turns everything a golden brown, while winter fills the valleys with snow and the swish of cross country skis. Your alpine adventure at this lodge will provide you with a rare holiday, offering exemplary service and individual attention.
The lodge offers summer and winter trails for all fitness levels. Shadow Lake is 15 minutes from the lodge. The trail is on the north shore of the lake and will give you a picturesque view at the base of Mount Ball. The ice caves are an easy to moderate (4.6km) trek and Ball Pass is situated on the Great Divide between Alberta and British Columbia (B.C.). The pass can easily be visited as a day hike from the lodge. Gibbon Pass makes a fine day trip from the lodge, or it can be part of an extended trip to Twin Lakes.
