ABOUT THIS REGION  WILDLIFE WATCHING

Wildlife viewing tours along the north coast of BC

Canada is the ultimate photo safari destination with its abundant wildlife in some of the most beautiful locations anywhere. Your guides will take you to to remote areas filled with a wide variety of animals and birds. Ocean adventures from Prince Rupert or Kitimat feature mist shrouded islands, secluded coves, towering mountains and all the beauty that the west coast of British Columbia has to offer. Adventures may range as far out into the north Pacific as far as the Queen Charlotte Islands to view seals, sea lions, sea otters, whales, eagles and many other bird species as well as land animals that frequently travel the shore line. These ocean adventures allow clients to choose either a prepared, or fresh crab, prawns or other seafood lunch cooked on board (or on a beach).

Land-based adventures into the Nass Valley are full of wildlife, such as black bears, grizzly bears, brown bears, moose, wolves, deer, fox, cougars, lynx, eagles, osprey, spawning Salmon and a myriad of others. There is no guarantee that you will see specific animals, as there are too many factors that can affect their behavior. We do know the best times and locations where viewing specific animals is very likely. Tour the Nass Valley lava beds on nature trails dotted with information boards about native myths and legends. Hike into spectacular secluded water falls. The Nass Valley is also home to the Tshimshan Nation. There are two villages, Kincolith and New Aiyansh, both rich with cultural histories. Both communities have carving sheds and traditional fish smoke houses. Guided visitors are welcome. As there is not time to tour the entire valley in one day, clients would choose their preference of two-three items. On the river, lake and mountain adventures clients will frequently view black bears, grizzly bears, brown bears, moose, wolves, mountain goats. deer, fox, cougars, lynx, eagles, osprey, spawning salmon and all sorts of other animals Again, there is no guarantee on what kind of animals you will see, only that you will certainly see many. These adventures bring clients to beautiful and breath taking sights such as huge cascading waterfalls, glaciers and majestic mountains carpeted with massive trees that are centuries old.
