Wildlife watching along the coast of northern BC

This adventure tour is an interpretive wilderness trip into the remote central coast of British Columbia. The focal point of the tour is the Bella Coola Valley. The tour is lead by a professional local is guide and is an all-inclusive overland adventure tour package. Highlights include wildlife viewing for grizzly and black bears, remote riverside cabins, wilderness river drift, spectacular scenery, native Indian cultural tour and pristine rainforest.

This journey takes you into the remote central coast valley of Bella Coola, gateway to the Great Bear Rainforest. Explore the Wild West frontier of the Chilcotin Plateau before staying at a rustic cabin in remote wilderness from where you will take a guided wildlife tour. Spend two days on the river drifting among ancient forests as the snow-capped coastal mountains tower above. Visit salmon spawning grounds with a local biologist and take a walk to ancient rock carvings with a Native Indian teacher and guide.

Season: June to September
Requirements: A 20-30 litre daypack, rain gear, water bottle
Suggested Items: Camera, sunglasses, sunscreen.
Suggested Clothing: Bring appropriate clothing suitable for summer weather. Warm jacket, hiking boots and rain gear.
Difficulty: Easy/Intermediate
Maximum Number of People: 10
Equipment Provided: 15 passenger van which will be used to transport the group during the trip, camping fees, park fees, satellite phone, cooking supplies, river drift with biologist, rock carving tour, sleeping equipment.
Transportation: The 7 day trips begin and end in Vancouver, BC. The 3 and 4 day trips depart from Bella Coola, BC. Departure and drop off points can be customized along the route, please enquire at time of booking.
Accommodations: Accommodations in guesthouse and rustic cabins along the route.
Meal Information: Almost all meals are catered for except for two evening meals and any extras you may desire.
Guide Information: This tour will be accompanied by a professional tour guide.
Weather Information: The trip departures are scheduled from June - September. During these summer months the weather can vary from day to day. Rain is not uncommon throughout the summer.
Comments: The trip is for anyone who loves travel and the outdoors. This trip is a chance to develop the adventurous spirit within and explore what is around the corner. Anyone with a desire to venture into unspoilt wilderness will love this journey.
