Guided fishing trips in the Athabasca region

Guided fishing tours at your choice of either Calling Lake, Rock Island Lake, or Fawcett Lake for northern pike and walleye. After an easy 2-3 hour drive from Edmonton, these fishing trips in the Athabasca region of northern Alberta are the perfect escape for a day of fishing.

Guided fishing trips in the Athabasca region

Calling Lake has become well known among Alberta anglers. Calling Lake has Pike to 20lbs, Walleye to 12 lbs, Whitefish, Perch and Burbot. This is a very beautiful and big lake, with great opportunities to catch either a trophy Pike or Walleye. North of Calling Lake, is Rock Island Lake. This lake has Pike to 20 lbs, Walleye to 8 lbs, Whitefish, Perch and Burbot. This is a beautiful wilderness lake with many structures to fish at. Fawcett Lake is also an interesting lake with lots of structure. It has Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch, Burbot, and Lake Whitefish. This lake produces great catches of Northern Pike and Walleye, at times you need to rest from reeling in fish.

Guided fishing trips in the Athabasca region

Season: third week of May to Freeze up
Requirements: Alberta fishing license.
Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle.
Suggested Clothing: Warm clothing, jacket, long pants, wind breaker, water proof insulated boots, hat, gloves, rain gear.
Difficulty: Easy/Intermediate
Maximum Number of People: 7
Equipment Provided: 16' fishing boat, fishing gear and tackle, rain gear.
Transportation: Trips originate and end in Legal, Alberta, located about 20 minutes north of Edmonton. Transportation to and from Edmonton can also be arranged.
Accommodations: Not included in the package but available at local motels, hotels and cabins.
Meal Information: Lunch, snacks and beverages included.
Guide Information: Your guide has been fishing Alberta waters ever since childhood. With many years of fishing experience, he brings his knowledge and excitement to each and every fishing trip. Certified with first aid and wilderness first aid, and coast guard approved.
Weather Information: Summer temperatures can range from 10 to 25 degrees celsius.
Comments: 7-10 hours of fishing.
