Viking Trail Discovery Newfoundland & Labrador

The Viking Trail Discovery tour is an excellent trip for those wanting to experience a lot of Western Newfoundland and Southern Labrador in just a week. Newfoundland is unique and diverse, offering an abundance of attractions for hikers, sightseers and photographers. You will be amazed by Newfoundland's culture, friendly local people, history and character. Newfoundland and Labrador's natural beauty is stunning and is North America's best kept secret.

Viking Trail Discovery Newfoundland & Labrador

Your adventure begins when you arrive at Deer Lake airport. During the tour you will explore Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While in Gros Morne, you will take a boat tour of Western Brook Pond, with its glacier carved fjord of over 2000 feet high, then walk on the Earth's mantel - The Tablelands. At L'Anse aux Meadows, you will visit the only authenticated site of a Viking settlement in North America. After leaving St. Anthony the tour heads for Labrador and the Basque whaling station at Red Bay. During the tour you will have a chance to view and photograph icebergs (season May-July), whales and moose. The people you will meet in Newfoundland will leave you with fond memories of this unique island.
