You'll have lunch at the Roger Creek Fish Hatchery. And after lunch you'll be treated to a tour of the facility and learn how three species of salmon are raised to enhance the river's capacity to produce them.
If you're into birding, there's also a chance to see the unique American Dipper, a perching bird that climbs about under the water and has a wonderful song. Of course you will almost certainly see Bald eagles on this trip. They are quite common in the area.
On this excursion, you'll learn about the role of water in rainforest ecosystems. There is a wonderful ambience by a waterfall on a hot day in the Alberni Valley

| Guide Information: Your guide has lived and worked in the forests of this region for many years. He will tell you stories and provide interpretive detail throughout the trip. Or you can ask him about the birds trees or flowers you are seeing. He has a wealth of knowledge. |
| Comments: There is a minimum of 4 guests required to run the tour. The trip is about 9 hours in total. This is an easy to moderate trip for experienced hikers, with some steep sections. |
