Luxury guest ranch in the Cariboo region of BC
Enjoy a multitude of activities in luxury at this private and exclusive guest ranch on Siwash Lake in the Cariboo region of central BC. This ranch offers freedom, adventure, and the finest of comforts in an intimate, pristine wilderness setting. It's a 160-acre working ranch, tucked away in the heart of BC's cowboy country, 20 miles (32 km.) east of 70 Mile House. The ranch is surrounded by more than 80,000 acres of uninhabited crown land, where wildlife thrives. Siwash Lake is over one half mile long by one quarter mile wide, and is a private lake - encompassed by the ranch territory, which features a mix of natural meadows, ridge land, high bluffs, river canyons, secluded lakes, and woods of ponderosa pine, fir and aspen. All aspects of the ranch have been designed to be ecologically friendly, and electrical power is generated on site, using solar energy. Secluded and remote, the ranch and its surrounding area provide the perfect habitat for wild flora and fauna, and a refreshing oasis of wilderness solitude for the guest.

Riding is the main activity, and they offer small group or solitary riding on miles of unspoiled wilderness trails. The riding program is one of the very best. Your guides don't do rigidly scheduled "nose-to-tail" trail rides. Rather, they endeavour to give you the freedom to ride as much or as little as you like, wherever on the map you choose to roam. Accomplished riders may ride well-trained horses on their own without a guide, after some introductory riding with the owners. Or a wrangler is always available if guided riding is your preference. For non-riders or those wishing to experience the delights of wilderness living in a variety of ways, the ranch has many other activities available. If fishing is a passion, they offer you the services of the ranch's angling guide, who will take you into the backcountry for some spectacular fly fishing or spin fishing. As well, canoeing, river and lake swimming, nature walking, bird watching, and wildlife viewing are all included in your stay and will satisfy a yearning for adventure.

Or you can retreat to one of several verandahs, to steep quietly in the gentle ebb and flow of the great outdoors. Inside, the ranch house features laid back, western-style luxury; old-fashioned country charm and the rustic flavor of frontier living, finished with casual elegance reminiscent of the Victorian era. The cathedral ceiling living room, with its western décor, overstuffed furniture, vintage fabrics, and antiques makes for a relaxed and comfortable haven at day's end, when there's always a crackling fire burning in the 30-foot river rock fireplace.
