ABOUT THIS REGION  CAVING & CANYON TOURS

Canyon ice trek in the Canadian Rocky Mountains

View the wonders of the passages etched and sculpted thousands of years by running glacier water, and view the awe inspiring formations of the canyon on one these ice walks. Your guides begin with an interpretive walk through the forest to the canyon. This includes learning about plants in the area, tracking animals and geology. Once at the canyon your guide will point out the native trade routes, and then inside the canyon your guide will discuss the pictographs drawn on the walls. The information about the pictographs is from the archaeologist's theories and the aboriginal perspective.

Canyon ice trek in the Canadian Rocky Mountains

During winter you will don ice cleats to keep you from slipping on the ice, and you walk on the wonders of the water to explore the blue ice formations through the canyon and the frozen water falls at the end where sometimes you might see the ice climbers in action! For those wanting more adventure or just a different perspective, you can head into the canyon at night with head lamps! Imagine the full moon glinting off the ice sheets in all their splendor, whilst sipping on some hot spiced tea and enjoying a light snack!
