Dogsledding tours near Edmonton, Alberta

Experience the fun and excitement of driving your own team of husky dogs through the forested trails north of Edmonton, Alberta. These tours are real dogs, real wooded trails and real sledding. Experience more than a ride in a basket or a chance to drive a dog team on a little trail. Take out a team of dogs and ride the trails with only you, your dogs and your guide. All the animals at the kennel play very important roles and each dog has its own job to do. The dogs are all trained to pull the sled and do their job with energy happiness and pride.

There are several tours to choose from. The 1 hour tour is a a fun little experience behind a dog sled team, drive your own sled or ride in the basket and relax and enjoy the winter trail. On the 2 hour tour experience a fun filled 2 hour tour behind a team of Siberian huskies. Learn to drive your own team or relax in the basket of the sled. The 3 hour tour is a great way to learn all the basics of sledding and still be able to get out behind your own team of Siberian Huskies, guided by professional staff. You will stop along the way to take pictures and learn about the trails history.

Requirements: Winter boots, snow gloves, winter hat, snow pants, warm jacket.
Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunglasses.
Suggested Clothing: Fleece or wool underclothes, scarf.
Difficulty: Easy/Intermediate
Restrictions: All clients are required to have proper winter clothing and sign a legal waiver.
Maximum Number of People: 6
Equipment Provided: Dogsledding equipment.
Transportation: Trips depart from the kennel north of the town of Athabasca, Alberta. Athabasca is a small community nestled in rolling hills set beside the historical Athabasca River. Athabasca is approximately 1.5 hours north of Edmonton. The tour site is 10 minutes north of Athabasca.
Accommodations: Not included in the tour price.
Meal Information: 2 hour tour includes hot beverage. 3 hour tour includes snacks and hot beverage.
Guide Information: Your guides have been operating their kennel since the late 1990's and have been guiding tours in the area for several years.
Weather Information: Average winter temperature is from -10 to -30 degrees celsius. All trips will be postponed and rescheduled if the weather is too cold or too warm.
Comments: Group sizes of up to 16 can be accommodated for a 'quick tour' only, please inquire for details.
