ABOUT THIS REGION  BEAR VIEWING TOURS

River tour to view grizzly bears in coastal BC

View grizzly bears and enjoy the alpine mountains, cascading waterfalls, and diverse wildlife along the Kakweiken River. As well as bears, cougar and mountain goat there are wolves, eagles, and many more creatures to be spotted. These eco-tours and camera safaris are a real wildlife adventure, however they are geared to cater to different levels of physical fitness. Your guides have a number of viewing stations where the grizzlies frequent, which gives you ample opportunity for photographing bears in their natural environment safely and non-intrusively. During the tours you will keep your eyes open for signs (tracks and scat) of wolves and mountain lions as you work your way along the river valley, keeping your cameras ready for those shots of a lifetime.

In the summer and fall, eagles arrive in large numbers to feed on the salmon and this adds to the feeling of absolute awe in this wilderness environment. You will stay at the Trapper’s cabin right on the river overlooking a majestic waterfall, a view that displays the power and beauty of Mother Nature at her best. You will also enjoy great meals of fresh crab and prawns caught right off the dock and salmon cooked in the traditional manner. In the evenings, you can enjoy the peace of the campfire as the creatures of the forest pass by. There are opportunities for pictures right from the porch! It is our guides goal to help connect you with the spiritual feeling one derives from being submerged in the power and beauty of the wilderness. Come join our guides in this quiet reality where Mother Nature will refresh your spirit.
