Enjoy a unique eco-culinary experience from this adventure lodge in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Forage hundreds of acres of private nature reserve composed of old growth Acadian forest, conifer and hardwood forests, open fields, meandering river, streams and ponds. Let our guides share with you the varied habitats of Cape Breton found, in microcosm, at this resort. Pick a bounty of edible wild plants and let your companion - a Canadian Eskimo Dog or a Norwegian Fjord horse - carry your harvest back to the kitchen. Depending on the season your pick includes Maple syrup, Fiddleheads, Chanterelle mushrooms, Sorrel, Clover, Mint, Ground Ivy, wild Apples and many more.

After your morning foraging your chef will guide you through the textures, smells and flavours of the plants you have foraged. Together you decide how best to combine these flavours into a 4-course dinner menu. A practical hands-on experience in the kitchen with the chef allows you complete control over the creative process of fashioning your selections into individual dishes that will best showcase the ingredients. And to conclude you eco-culinary expedition, you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy a dinner imaginatively created by yourself. For a true adventure experience, combine your meal preparation with some other outdoor pursuits. Summer brings hot and lazy days to this resort. Combine your culinary experience with some horseback riding or some of the best river fly fishing in Atlantic Canada. In the winter try your hand at driving a traditional sled behind a team of Canadian Eskimo Dogs. Whatever your choice, it will be a vacation to remember.
