ABOUT THIS REGION  HIKING

Hiking in the Okanagan Valley Wine Region

Experience the spectacular nature, history and wine culture - the true spirit - of the exceptional Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. From Kelowna, this full day tour offers a unique combination of activity and reward - combining a morning of hiking with an afternoon of tantalizing cuisine and Okanagan wines. A day you’ll long remember. For the morning hike, you choose the level - either easy or moderate, along well-groomed sun-drenched grassland trails. Easy trails are mostly on level ground with great views. Moderate trails include a steady incline in order to get those spectacular views from up high. You will be sure to see the splendors of seasonal wildflowers in bloom as well as views of Okanagan Lake and the Okanagan Valley. Learn about the history of the paddlewheelers that steamed up and down the lake with cargos full of fruit. Hear about the unique geological formations and how the Valley was carved out by the melting glaciers. Learn about the Okanagan’s fragile ecosystems.

Hiking in the Okanagan Valley Wine Region

After the hike, lunch is at a winery patio restaurant overlooking stunning Okanagan Lake. Savour the local cuisine in a wondrous setting. After lunch, enjoy a winery tour and wine tastings, a perfect reward to complete the tour. The Okanagan Valley won the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Wines of the World competition in LA in May 2004. Its’ reds and whites receive international acclaim and you’ll experience why. If you don’t have a full day to play, then join a 4 hour hiking tour and experience first hand the stunning natural areas of Kelowna.
