Cruise aboard the Caledonia on this sailing tour along the western shore of Newfoundland. This place is a land like no other. It’s the far east of the western world, with thousands of islands, coves, guts and bays that exude a strange and startling beauty. In a land as unpopulated and geographically ancient as Newfoundland, the hiking and walking opportunities are both endless and breathtaking. Around every corner, around every bend, you will find a piece of heaven, a delightful sight and a playful breeze that will help us on this journey. Caledonia, a 245’ square-rigged barquentine, is the largest sailing ship built in Canada in the last 100 years. She is the only sailing Expedition Cruise Vessel of its size offering shipboard coastal adventures in North America. One great advantage of sailing on a smaller ship is the flexibility to change where you go to accommodate new opportunities. Caledonia can accommodate up to 76 guests and a crew of 20 for much more personal service. On a smaller ship you can visit out of the way ports and travel directly to sites of interest rather than seeing the usual big tourist ports. Guest speakers will be aboard to provide insight into the people, places and history of our ports of call. The itinerary is flexible, if there is an opportunity to witness some spectacular wildlife or attend a festival that requires a change to the regular itinerary, your crew can accommodate it. As a working sailing ship, guests are invited to participate in the handling of sails. The professional crew are available to demonstrate and teach a few skills to those who are interested.

| Accommodations: Caledonia combines majestic beauty and "Olde World" charm in a traditional Tall Ship. Yet she is a new ship, boasting finely appointed cabins and entertainment spaces all built to the highest modern safety standards. Caledonia is designed to be one of the most desirable expedition sailing ships in operation. Comfort and spaciousness are her key qualities as guests can mingle in the Pub, which features a beautiful mahogany bar boasting a collection of rare single malt whiskies. The well-stocked library also provides a cozy place to relax. There are several cabin types available. Suites are on the main deck and feature a queen bed, desk/chair, sette with coffee table, bedside table, porthole, hanging closet/dresser drawers, ensuite shower, vanity and toilet. Double plus rooms feature a queen bed and single bed, captain's chair and table, dresser drawers/night table, hanging closet, desk, porthole, private shower, vanity and toilet. Double rooms feature a queen bed, desk/stool, hanging closet/dresser drawers, sea chest, private shower, vanity and toilet. Double room shared are on the upper and lower decks and have two single beds, shared shower, vanity and toilet. Quad rooms are on the lower deck and have four single beds, ensuite shower, vanity and toilet. |
| Meal Information: Dining takes place in the finely appointed main salon where the unique ambience provides a welcome setting. The galley specializes in local gourmet cuisine, fresh seafood and some wild game, but also offers more traditional restaurant fare for the less adventurous. Lunches are lighter and served in a buffet style. The menu changes daily and they take advantage of fresh local foods wherever they stop. Your voyage includes all onboard meals with complimentary soft drinks, coffee and tea.

| Guide Information: A full crew of 20 is onboard to make your cruising experience a trip to remember. The crew will be available to provide an interpretive and historical aspect to the trip as well as to give demonstrations and lessons on how to sail the tall ship. Expedition leaders will also be available for ground excursions. |
