Central Yukon hosts a unique diversitiy of wildlife. It is one of the richest areas in the Yukon. In the backcountry you will find caribou, moose, wolf and bear as well as the rare Fannin sheep. Elk and even cougar have also been spotted. Salmon spawn in the major rivers and streams. Many freshwater fishes including arctic grayling, lake trout and pike can be found in the lakes. Various migratory birds, especially sandhill cranes, fly over the Tintina trench during migration in May and September.

| Transportation: Trips begin and end at the cabin located near Finlayson River on the Campbell Highway in the Yukon. Keys and equipment can be picked up in the town of Faro. |
| Accommodations: This Yukon log cabin has 2 bedrooms with a double bed in each room. It is rustic with no indoor plumbing, running water or electricity. There is fresh creek water nearby, woodstove for heat, propane cooking stove and outhouse. |

| Weather Information: The climate is continental and generally dry with sunny warm summers. Temperature at the end of June and in July often goes up to 30°C/82°F. There are fewer insects than in other areas of the north. |
