ABOUT THIS REGION  HORSE PACK TRIPS

Horse pack trips to a Rocky Mountain camp

Explore the remote Alberta Rockies on one of these pack trips to an outpost camp in the Clearwater Valley. On this tour you will spend the first night at the Mountain Camp. Then the next morning you saddle the riding horses, load the pack horses, and set out for a five-hour ride further into the Canadian Rockies to the Outpost Camp. It's a bit more rustic than the Mountain Camp, but the riding, scenery, and wildlife opportunities are even better. The Outpost camp is situated by the Clearwater River on the edge of a cliff. Across from the river there are pastures and forest, plus plenty of mountains. It takes about five hours with pack horses to get from the Mountain Camp to the Outpost Camp. The ride includes three big crossings of the Clearwater River.

The two horse corrals at the Outpost Camp are spacious with lots of room for the tack. The fire tent makes sitting around the campfire even more enjoyable. Even though more rustic, the Outpost Camp is still comfortable. The custom made tents also have beds and a wood stove. If you're willing to experience a little more adventure in your riding, the Outpost Camp is a must see and do experience. Come join us at your first opportunity!
