ABOUT THIS REGION  NATIVE CULTURAL EXPERIENCES

Native cultural experience in the Canadian Rockies

The Native North American culture is a truly fascinating thing to experience, as is their rich history in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Both are inseparable from their environment, those wide expanses of nature and wilderness that gave them reason for being, and these unique adventure packages were created to give you the opportunity to have this experience for yourself-walk away with some of those "beautiful and good things"-instead of just imagining it. The Rocky Mountain Basic package was designed to be a wonderful way for the individual, group, or family to be able to decide what they do each day, while enjoying the comfort and seclusion of a picturesque and remote mountain lodge. Each day will provide you with possibilities. You may decide to relax the day away enjoying the quiet sounds and smells of nature with a good book or quiet time. You can be more active by visiting many of the local attractions, including the largest Hot Springs in the National Parks system, or choose to hike some of the beautiful trails in the area; whitewater raft or try fishing in our nearby rivers; horseback riding; explore some of our valley wetland and marshy areas to view wildlife; take in our interesting native culture and wilderness skills building activities; or enjoy an exciting outing on mountain bikes. We start the week off with an exciting native opening ceremony to deepen our connection with nature. From this moment on, your week will be filled with adventure and excitement as you decide what to do next. We will provide your meals and all of our knowledge and help with organizing outings during your stay with us to help ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit. Dependent upon weather and guest tastes, activities could include such things as wilderness skills building, a map and compass navigation session, native spirituality activities, or native skills and craft building to help introduce you to the Canadian wilderness, its wildlife, uniqueness, and history.

Native cultural experience in the Canadian Rockies

The Spirit Walker package was created to give you an exciting wilderness adventure, including hiking, backpacking, exploring, and river rafting, alongside the opportunity to experience the wilderness through native eyes. Connecting with the natural world in this way will be an enlightening and refreshing experience that will also help you relax in your new remote surroundings as we partake in some native ceremonies at the end of the week. The early ancestors of the Kootenay River valley and surrounding areas become our spiritual guides this week as we have fun digging down into the essence of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and beyond.
