Backcountry snowshoeing and dining experience

These exclusive guided snowshoeing tours let you experience the tranquility and beauty of the Coast Mountains combined with a delicious gourmet West Coast dinner served at a backcountry lodge. The evening tour is a unique and enchanting dining experience beginning with a snow coach, dog sled or snowmobile tour up groomed trails through snow-laden forests from the staging area near Whistler to a charming backcountry lodge. Once at the lodge, enjoy a savory West Coast dinner, followed by a decadent dessert. Before heading back down the valley, you can take a short moonlight snowshoe stroll around the lodge, where you will experience firsthand the tranquility of this secluded high-alpine setting.

Backcountry snowshoeing and dining experience

For an even more unforgettable adventure, stay overnight! The experience begins with a late afternoon snow coach or snowmobile excursion from the staging area near Whistler to a charming backcountry lodge. Once at the lodge, you will be served a delicious 4-course feast. Following dinner, you can relax around the fireplace, play a game of pool, head out for a moonlight snowshoe stroll or XC ski, or spend some time at the candlelit tobogganing hill. The next morning you will be served a delicious breakfast to energize you for return journey back to Whistler.

Backcountry snowshoeing and dining experience

Season: November to April
Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle.
Suggested Clothing: Warm winter clothing including ski suits, snow pants, heavy gloves, scarf, warm hat, long underwear, fleece or wool underclothes, warm snow boots.

Equipment Provided: Snowshoes, cross country skis and toboggans.
Transportation: Packages begin and end in Whistler, BC, north of Vancouver. The package includes transportation from Whistler to the staging area and a snowmobile ride or snow coach transfer from the staging area to the lodge. Snowmobile guests ride double and can take turns driving.
Accommodations: One night accommodation at a backcountry lodge is included. The comfortable lodge is 5,000 square feet with accommodation for sixteen in eight private rooms. The Lodge offers three distinct levels of accommodation, to suit a variety of tastes, group sizes and budgets. There are five simple, yet comfortable Standard rooms on the third floor, 3 with queen beds and 2 with twin beds. There is a shared bathroom and shower facility on this floor for guests staying in the standard rooms. There are two larger Superior rooms on the second floor, each with a queen bed, private bathroom and small deck. Also on the second floor is the deluxe 'Solitude' suite. This spacious suite has its own private living room, bathroom, and large loft area. The beautiful suite boasts stunning views of the Solitude Glacier and Mount Callaghan. To complete the experience, the suite features a gas fireplace and private deck. The Solitude suite can accommodate up to six guests, with a pull-out sofa and two twin beds in the loft. The Lodge features a large and relaxing lounge area where over-stuffed couches and armchairs are comfortably adjacent to a beautiful stone fireplace. Books, maps, board games and even a house guitar provide entertainment far beyond the reach of television. The Lodge is heated with a propane furnace and lit with propane lamps. Limited electricity is available through an electrical generator. There is indoor plumbing, running water and hot showers are available for all.
Meal Information: The overnight package includes dinner on the first day and breakfast on the second day, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
Weather Information: Winter temperatures range from 5 to -15 degrees Celsius. The lodge elevation is at 4500 feet, average annual snowfall is 36 feet, guaranteed snowpack from November 15 to May 1.
Comments: Overnight trips departs Whistler at approx. 3:30 pm and returns around noon the following day.
