A snow cat trip is a must add-on to your next skiing or snowboarding trip to Whistler. Located 20 minutes south of Whistler, a warm and comfortable Bombardier snowcat will transport you high up into the untouched powder for an unforgettable day of skiing or boarding. You will ski 7000-10000 vertical feet per day on 6-8 runs of untracked snow. Certified guides insure your safety and the snowcat provides reliable and comfortable transportation up the hill. The Tricouni area typically receives 20% more snowfall on average than Whistler/Blackcomb. The average snowfall is approximately 11 meters / 432 inches / 36 feet per year. The most accessible backcountry powder skiing and snowboarding in Whistler, BC. We are young at heart and very excited to show off our beautiful British Columbia backyard to new people. No lift lines, epic powder all day, great atmosphere, and the best 'bang for your buck'. A great skiing adventure.

Season: December to April
Requirements: Powder skis and equipment.
Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunglasses, sunscreen.
Suggested Clothing: Ski coat, ski pants, boots, hat, gloves, fleece underclothes, long underwear.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Restrictions: Snowcat Skiing is enjoyed by both first-timers to backcountry powder skiing as well as seasoned powder veterans. Generally an 'intermediate' level of skiing is necessary. Skiers and snowboarders should have strong intermediate skiing ability with experience in a variety of conditions including powder, trees, and steep terrain. Snowcat skiing is unlike a resort style ski area. There are no maintained runs or grooming and the snow is often deep. Much of the area is similar to an un-groomed Black Diamond. Snowcat Skiing is a backcountry experience. Snow can very from fluff to corn and everything in between. Your guides try and match the groups ability level to the terrain. At the very least, you should be comfortable with a good blue/easy black run.
Maximum Number of People: 24
Equipment Provided: Snowcat transportation, avalanche tranceivers.
Transportation: Trips originate and end in the town of Whistler, approximately 2 hours north of Vancouver on highway #99. Pick up and transportation to the snowcat is included. A representative will meet our guests at 7:15 AM at the Gone Bakery in the main Whistler Village. We depart from the bakery at 7:30 AM. If a pick up from accommodations is required this can be done by prior arrangement.
Accommodations: Not included in the price but available at local hotels, lodges and resorts.
Meal Information: Hearty lunch is provided on the mountain.
Guide Information: Guides are certified.
Weather Information: Winter temperatures range from 5 to -15 degrees celsius.
Comments: 1 guide per 6 guests.
