Jasper National Park has a variety of fish which includes pike, Rocky Mountain whitefish, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Brook Trout and Bull Trout. The average size of these fish is in the 2-4 lbs range but much larger fish are caught. Maligne Lake is 22 km long and is nestled bewteen snow-capped mountains and offers breathtaking scenery. Medicine Lake is spectacular and has the longest underground drainage system in the Western Hemisphere. Talbot Lake is s a shallow, clearwater lake and is excellent for pike fishing. The local rivers produce best in spring and fall and dry fly fishing turns on in the autumn months and Maligne River produces well in August and September.
