ABOUT THIS REGION  LAKE SEA KAYAKING

Kayaking tours on Lesser Slave Lake

Lesser Slave Lake is one of the largest lakes in Alberta and is a great lake for kayaking, with its beautiful beaches, warm water, good fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities. Choose from either a day tour or multi-day kayaking adventure. The day tours start from the beautiful Devonshire Beach, where you head out for a short crossing out to Dog Island, circumnavigate the Island with a lunch stop half way around, and then back again. Great way to get introduced to kayaking. It also makes a beautiful evening or even moonlight paddle!

Kayaking tours on Lesser Slave Lake

For a 2 day trip, come with us on a great weekend adventure! Everyone gathers Saturday morning for a kayakers breakfast, then off to the launch point for an orientation and packing of kayaks. A beautiful 10 km paddle along the remote North shore of Lesser Slave Lake takes you to your camping spot, with return paddle on Sunday. If you prefer not to camp, our 3 day bed & breakfast package includes a paddle over to Dog Island for an interpretive hike and then back into the kayaks to cross over to your bed & breakfast. The next day offers a guided bison tour and the remainder of the day is free to kayak, swim, fish and hike. The last day includes a museum tour before departure.
