Cycling day tours along the Kettle Valley Railway

Cycle the historic Kettle Valley Railway in the Okanagan region of BC on these day bike tours. On the Tunnel, Trestle and Tasting tour you will explore one of the most scenic sections of the Trans Canada Trail along the Kettle Valley Railway above Okanagan Lake. You start your day with a picturesque one hour drive to the trailhead. Here you begin your downhill cycle of 22 kilometres. You will pass by natural Ponderosa Pines and Sagebrush before entering the lush irrigated area of orchards and vineyards. You will enjoy a leisurely cycle to your pick-up spot on Okanagan Lake before returning to lunch and a tasting at Hillside Estate Winery. After lunch you return to Kelowna.

Cycling day tours along the Kettle Valley Railway

On the Bellevue Creek Trestle Forest Fire Recovery tour, you will explore the Kettle Valley Rail Trail through the burn of 2003. You start with transport from Kelowna to the trail above Kelowna. You are then fitted to your bikes and begin your ride to the Bellevue Trestle, a 238 metre long, 65 metre high trestle that was saved from the fire. You wll see how the area is recovering from the fire and notice the wonderful new growth that is already in the area. The mountain wildflowers are a breathtaking change from the devastation of the 2003 wildfire. You will stop at Summerhill Pyramid Winery for lunch and a tour before returning to Kelowna. Total distance of the ride is 10 kilometres. On the Rock Ovens to Valley Vistas tour you will explore one of the most scenic sections of the Trans Canada Trail along the Kettle Valley Railway above Naramata. You start your day with a picturesque one hour drive to Chute Lake Resort. Here you begin your downhill cycle of 36 kilometres. Along the way you will see rock ovens built by the crews during the construction of the railway between 1912-14. You will also see wonderful valley and lake views before stopping at Hillside Estate Winery for lunch and a tasting.
