Lake fishing for brookies and pike on Igloo Lake

Come and experience some of the best brook trout lake fishing in Canada on Igloo lake in Labrador. 'Brookies' are abundant in these waters of Labrador and the avid fly-fishermen will not be disappointed at the numbers and sizes. The lake fishing is excellent all summer long in this northern lake and the average size is 3-4 lbs and trophies are from 6-10 lbs. Many are caught in the 6-7 lbs range. Fishing may be done from streams, the shoreline or from the "Gander Bay' river boats. Or, you may find some of the best action is found right at the dock of the lodge. Besides brook trout, Igloo Lake also boasts a good population of northern pike and you can try some spin casting for these monsters for a good change of pace.

The lodge offers many comforts of home and provides all the necessary amenities to guarantee maximum enjoyment for the guests. The staff is highly skilled and offers an unforgettable experience. Second only to the guides is the cook, who will offer up delicious and hearty meals consisting of freshly caught fish and other delicacies.

Season: June to early September
Requirements: Fly fishing tackle and equipment.
Suggested Items: Camera, sunglasses, daypack, sunscreen, insect repellent.
Suggested Clothing: Warm coat, rain gear, hip or chest waders, fleece clothing, long pants, shorts, t-shirts, hat, wool socks, sneakers, rubber boots, hiking boots.
Difficulty: Easy
Restrictions: Baggage allowance of 50 lbs per person.
Maximum Number of People: 10
Equipment Provided: Boats, motors, fuel, clean linens, licenses.
Transportation: Trips originate and end in Goose Bay, Labrador. Package includes air transportation from Goose Bay to the lodge. Goose Bay is accessible by air from most Canadian cities. Transportation arrangements available.
Accommodations: The lodge has 1440 sq. ft. of floor space with 5 twin bedrooms. The building has a large kitchen, dining room and lounge area, two bathrooms with showers, hot and cold running water, refrigeration and electricity.
Meal Information: Delicious home-cooked meals are included.
Guide Information: Guides are experienced and knowledgeable and dedicated to the safety and comfort of the guests. 1:2 guide to guest ratio.
Weather Information: Summer temperatures average between 15 and 25 degrees celsius.
Comments: Trips shorter than a week can be arranged. Catch and Release is practiced, one trophy fish can be kept.
