ABOUT THIS REGION  DOGSLEDDING

Dogsledding New Year's trip into Algonquin Park

Journey into the new year with the help of your guides and dog team on this exciting dogsledding adventure. Driving your own dog team through the ancient forests and across vast frozen lakes of Algonquin Provincial Park, you will experience the grandeur of what life use to be like for the first settlers to this region. The first four days are spent on a dog sled, exploring the splendours of Algonquin, including visits to some of the remaining old growth forests. Accommodations are in comfortable heated cabins. The last three days are spent at a remote Nordic centre where you can spend the days cross country skiing or snowshoeing on the many trails. This centre is so remote that you have to hike 3 km just to get to it. Accommodations at the lodge are in wood cabins and the main building has a sauna, hot tub, lounge and fireplace.

Dogsledding New Year's trip into Algonquin Park

Only 3 hours north of Toronto, Algonquin Provincial Park is Ontario's oldest park and one of the largest in Canada. It boasts over 7600 square kilometers, with over 2000 fresh water lakes. Within its borders can be found deer, moose, beaver, wolves, bears and many other wild animals, all in their natural habitats. This park is so large and so varied that one end of the park can have entirely different weather from the other end! This park is the perfect location for your next winter adventure.
