ABOUT THIS REGION  WILDLIFE WATCHING

Bald eagle scenic raft tour

View the majestic bald eagle on one of these scenic raft trips. In the United States, the bald eagle is still a rare and endangered species. Canada, and in particular the Squamish Estuary in Brackendale (just one hour from Vancouver and Whistler) is more fortunate. This area features the highest concentration of bald eagles in the world as they are drawn to the river corridor to feast on thousands of spawning salmon. Up to 3700 eagles have been counted in the corridor every year! Your guides offer an amazing bald eagle viewing tour by boat, providing an intimate view of one of nature's most awesome spectacles.

Bald eagle scenic raft tour

A 2 hour scenic and gentle river journey awaits those who wish to experience the majestic bald eagle in its natural habitat. During your 2 hour gentle float down the Cheakamus and lower Squamish rivers in our expedition-style boats, you’ll not only experience bald eagles and salmon in their natural habitat, but also the tremendous scenery that illustrates the beauty of British Columbia. You’ll see eagles by the hundreds as they sit in the trees and feast on spawning salmon. In recent years upwards of 3700 eagles have been counted in the corridor. You’ll be fascinated by the determination of the salmon as they struggle to lay their eggs in the gravel spawning grounds of this scenic river. Your river journey will take you through some of British Columbia’s most inspiring wilderness. As you cut through lush forests and deep canyons don’t forget to take time to reconnect with our world-class scenery including old growth forests, towering glaciers, and frozen waterfalls off in the distance. This tour is a photographer’s dream. Our on-board hot chocolate makes it even better.
