This multi-activity trip combines horseback riding and whitewater rafting. Imagine yourself trail riding through the magnificent Rocky Mountains, guided by experienced cowboys on well trained horses. Your guide will take you on a journey through the valleys, creeks, waterfalls and mountain scenery that make up the Alberta foothills. Top it off with one or two exciting days of whitewater rafting down the mighty Red Deer river and you have an adventure vacation of a lifetime.

Season: mid May to September
Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent.
Suggested Clothing: Warm clothing suited to a variety of weather conditions, hat, rain gear, swim suit, towel, sneakers, hiking boots, dry clothing for after the rafting.
Difficulty: Easy/Intermediate
Equipment Provided: Wetsuits, booties, helmets, lifejackets, raft and equipment, riding gear, tents and camping equipment.
Transportation: Trips originate and end on the upper Red Deer River west of Sundre, Alberta. Map provided at time of booking. Transportation arrangements available from Sundre or Calgary for additional cost.
Accommodations: Overnight accommodations in rustic sleeping cabins while at the base camp.
Meal Information: Delicious home cooking.
Guide Information: Experienced and certified. Your guide has rafted on this river for over 27 years.
Weather Information: Summer temperatures average between 15-25 degrees celsius.
Comments: River is rated class 3-4. Peak water levels occur in June and July.
